Terms of service
Last updated October 31, 2026
Draft. This page isn’t in effect yet. It will be once it names the company that runs Lot Master, and shops will be told by email when it is.
These terms are the agreement between Lot Master (“we”) and the business that signs up for Lot Master (“you”). By creating a shop or using the app you agree to them, to the acceptable use policy and to the data processing statement. The privacy policy explains what we keep and why.
1. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and using Lot Master for a business, which can be just you.
- Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
- You’re responsible for everything done in your shops, including by staff you invite.
2. You are the merchant of record
Lot Master is software. It isn’t a marketplace and it isn’t part of your sales. When someone buys from your website, on eBay or anywhere else you record a sale, the sale is between you and the buyer. That means:
- Website payments go to your own Stripe account. We never hold your money and take no cut of your sales. Stripe’s terms apply to your Stripe account.
- You set your prices and your shop’s policies, describe your items honestly, ship them and handle returns.
- Refunds, disputes and chargebacks are yours to handle, in your Stripe account.
- Sales tax is your responsibility. You decide whether you need to collect sales tax, VAT or any other tax, and you collect, report and pay it. Lot Master doesn’t calculate, collect or file tax for you. Stripe Tax in your own Stripe account can help.
- You follow the laws that apply to what you sell and where you sell it, including import, export and consumer protection laws.
3. eBay
When you connect eBay, you authorize us to act on your eBay account for you: to list, revise and end items, and to read your orders, fees and listings. You can disconnect at any time in Settings. eBay’s rules, fees and decisions about your eBay account are between you and eBay.
4. What you may sell
The acceptable use policy lists what can’t be sold or published through Lot Master, and what happens if a shop does.
5. Your content
You own your inventory, photos, descriptions, customer records and everything else you put into Lot Master. You give us permission to store, copy, display and process it only as needed to run the service for you: for example to show it on your website, send it to eBay when you ask, or make smaller copies of your photos. You confirm you have the right to use what you upload.
Suggested titles, descriptions and price ranges from the photo reader are only suggestions. Check them before you publish. You’re responsible for what your listings say.
6. Plans, trials and cancelling
- Each new owner gets one free 14-day trial, with no card needed. Shops pause when it ends unless a plan is chosen.
- Plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. Prices are shown in the app before you choose.
- You can cancel any time in Settings → Billing. A paid plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then stops. We don’t refund part periods, except where the law requires it.
- We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a price change affects you, so you can cancel first.
- If a payment fails and isn’t fixed within the grace period we tell you about, your shops pause until it is.
7. Your data, and leaving
You can export your inventory at any time from Settings. If you leave, you can ask us to delete your shops and their data, and we’ll do it as the privacy policy describes.
8. The service
We work hard to keep Lot Master running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted. It depends on services we don’t control, including eBay, Stripe and our hosting providers. We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something important, or ever shut Lot Master down, we’ll tell you at least 30 days ahead so you can export your data.
9. Suspending or closing a shop
We may suspend or close a shop that breaks these terms or the acceptable use policy, puts other users or the service at risk, or that the law requires us to act on. Where we can, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. You can close your account at any time.
10. Disclaimers
Lot Master is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we don’t give warranties beyond those in these terms, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or that the service will be error free. We don’t check what shops sell and aren’t responsible for their items, listings or dealings with buyers.
11. Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for lost profits, lost sales, lost data or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for any claim about Lot Master is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if that’s more.
You’ll cover us for claims from third parties, such as buyers, eBay, Stripe or a tax authority, that arise from your sales, your content or your breaking these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. Using Lot Master after that means you accept the new terms. If you don’t, you can cancel before then.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where Lot Master is organized, and the courts there hear any dispute, unless the law where you are says otherwise. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to sort it out first.
